Thursday best bets from Luke & Brown (04/12)
By SENTrack
Cam Luke & Campbell Brown have your Thursday sorted on Trackside!
The lads have taken a look at Geelong, Coffs Harbour, Gosford & Cairns to bring the Track family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Cam Luke
Geelong: Race 1, No.5 - GOT TICKETS
Small field which means this horse who is already been at the track will have a much easier run than last start. Goes up a little bit in distance which won’t be an issue with the added fitness. It’s a tricky little race but I’m gonna side with the horse who I think was pretty decent at Morphettville on debut!
Geelong: Race 5, No.1 - POWERBOUND
Finally draws a barrier and in this easier class means it’ll squeeze forward today! Good track is when he is at his best, the favourite is drawn disgustingly (how he is this short blows my mind) and the slight decrease in distance won’t work against him. Can park right behind the leaders, come off heels and they won’t catch him.
Geelong: Race 6, No.2 - PENNINE WAY
Forget last start at Pakenham on the heavy track. Today’s track conditions works better for this bloke. Has had a jump out since and looked good so no stress with the fitness needed to rise in distance today. I understand the frustration punters have with him as he knocks on that door when in the market but this is easier today and as long as he get a backside I think the $3.20 is a great price.
Gosford: Race 3, No.2 - OCEANS ONE
This is a smidge easier than last start at Wyong and from that inside gate with a 3kg claim Siena Grima will say ‘Catch me if you can’. Beat Formal here 2 back in similar race. Good track works as does fitness as he does run well deeper into a prep! There is some speed in the race (Detendu fave is one of those) so will need OO to jump well but barriers win races!
Coffs Harbour: Race 3, No.6 - ENCHANTED WORLD
Resumes of the back of two trials and with the claim from Newman I feel this is the main chance to break the maiden. Can sit right on back of speed (Evil Lover & Redadel). Good track won’t be an issue and it’s a tricky race with many resuming but the 1000 suits today with the speed on and if she holds her form from last prep, she will win!
Coffs Harbour: Race 5, No.2 - NESCAFFIER
Wouldn’t want it much skinnier than the $2.50 I backed that but this is most certainly the horse to beat. Runs well first-up (that win was over 1400 at EF) has trialled well, good track perfect. Come On Glamour, who is trying to string a couple together, will slide over and stalk but won’t be able to dictate or run down the leader and therefore IMO the winner!
Campbell Brown
Geelong: Race 4, No.11 - CONTOURS
Debut effort was good beaten under a length in what looks like will be a strong maiden. Good track today, up slightly in trip and barrier 1 all huge pluses. $3.40.
Coffs Harbour: Race 3, No.6 - ENCHANTED WORLD
First-up today with jockey favourite on board in Jett Newman. Two trials leading into today good, had a solid first prep with 2 placings. This appears to be a nice winnable race to kick off a second campaign. $4.80.
Gosford: Race 2, No.5 - DARLING FELLOW
Trial form was good and he brought it to the races on debut winning. Still learning but small field should get run of race and be the one to beat again. $1.80.
Cairns: Race 3, No.4 - SPIRIT MEISTER
Can't believe this guy isn't favourite. Back in trip, loves a soft track and will jump and run in this small field. Catch me if you can, and I think they can't. $2.80.
