Race 1 | 3. The Mean Fiddler

Was really good on debut when controlling the race in today’s small field and other major speed he will be in control early. Low draw means no work and even though it’s an ask to go from a maiden to win a race that’s much stronger like this I think he’s gonna be very hard to run down.

Race 3 | 5. Scintillante (Each-way)

Gets back to a trip that works! Was grinding at Caulfield last start and the longer the better! Ran really well in a SA derby and the good track is to his liking! Get the 3kg claim and won’t do any work from the gate! Form behind touchdown stands up and certainly is over the odds and a nice each way play!

Race 5 | 1. Legacy Bay

Gets back to the 1400 and her 2 runs this prep have been in nice form races. She loves the 1400 and hits it third-up and a good track is a big plus! Jockey claims 3kg and will need to have a plan to get a backside with a slight tricky gate. Only horse who can challenge is Stage N Screen who will go forward. No luck last start and is drawn well today to be prominent but I think LB is classier!

Race 6 | 4. A Little Deep (Each-way)

Was only meh last start but normally does run well second-up! Seemed like she was looking for 1200 resuming and the good track is lovely. Ran huge races in the Autumn in G races. JM won’t do any work from the gate and while she will need to show she is still interested in racing, but she will get every chance to do so and $8 is over the odds!

Race 7 | 1. Craig

He is the best horse in the race. He had a long break and didn’t handle the soft but ran home ok. Loves the 1600! (2nd in Toorak) drawn nicely to get time to balance up, get cover and should be able to follow Regal Amazon (in form) into the race! Always a risk second-up off a long break but he gets every setup to win the race and I’m taking the risk on easily the best horse in the field!

RANDWICK

Race 3 | 17. Farside (Each-way)

Got a long way back on debut and was better than it looked. Winner belted them! Little speed engaged today so will again shuffle back but the 1400 looks better today. Race day experience adds a bit and with a little luck (cover) can get home well! She is certainly over the odds and I’ve backed her each way and even used the more places to extend those bets to Top 6.

Race 7 | 7. Shangri La Spring

Back for the 2nd crack at 2000 (was up from 1500) and can only help! Drawn well again and will have a similar run. Has had a tick over trial in between and fitter well help him to turn the tables on MB.

Race 8 | 6. Last Command (Each-way)

Runs well fresh and has trialled up well! Good track is a big plus as is the distance kick off point. Jock claim will help as will the gate but I’d like to see him be proactive using the gate and sit close to the speed. He rarely runs a bad race and I doubt he will here today with many conditions to suit. Great each-way play!
