Rises to a much more suitable 1400m and maps to enjoy a significantly better run in transit. His first-up effort was far stronger than the result suggests after being poorly suited by the set-up, and a more positive ride is expected this time.

He boasts an excellent second-up record, winning three of four, and with natural improvement, he looks primed to deliver a peak performance. Best of the day!

Randwick: Race 9, No.5 - MONTE KATE

Has trialled impressively on three occasions since joining the Bjorn Baker stable and appears to have returned in terrific order. She’s always shown ability, and early signs suggest she may have gone to another level this preparation.

The draw allows her to settle on speed over the sharp 1100m, where she should be right in the fight throughout. At around $9, the market may be underestimating her upside, and she profiles as the type to firm late.
