Expert form analyst Mark Hunter has taken a look at the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

He has broken down each horse in that race, runner by runner.

Hunter believes there are four obvious chances who can win the $500,000 race, but has the in form Birdman on top!

“I think Birdman will win again here. It's just in the here and now, it's completely in the zone,” Hunter exclaimed.

“It probably should have won first-up, if not gone very close, and last time it was just never ever going to lose.

“It’s just got to get that nice run, fourth or fifth, blend into the race, and I think Birdman can win again to beat No.2 Buckaroo.

“I think it's a horse that's got to be ridden like it's a 20 to 1 chance… It reminds me a bit of a horse called Juggler, who when he got in real tight finishes, he wasn't so determined to win, and Buckaroo's got a little bit of that about him.

“So, he's going to need everything to go right.

“Then the two leaders, No.1 Light Infantry Man… It doesn't begin brilliantly. Harry (Coffey) is having his first sit on the horse in a race.

“You've got Chief Little Rock drawn out wide, who's a leader, can fly the start, and has Jamie Melham riding, so the start's all important for Light Infantry Man. If it leads and dictates, it's got a winning hope - the start is vital.

“And No.7 Chief Little Rock… It looks to be trialling really well, just might fly the start, might find the top and might be hard to run down.

“So, there's four chances - they're the obvious - I think Birdman's the one to beat.”

Hunter also provided a YES or NO rating for each horse in the sprint.
