By SENTrack
David Taggart & Cam Luke have your Monday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a look at Canterbury & Mornington to bring the Track family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
David Taggart
CANTERBURY
Race 3, No.1 - Hello Captain
Was scratched Wednesday and saved for here. Won well first up in this grade and he should only improve. Does have to carry weight but has Nash on to get the cash.
MORNINGTON
Race 4, No.5 - Nightime Star
Hits this third up and if she gets any luck in running she can go close. She will find this easier than what she’s been racing against and she is also helped with blinkers going on.
Race 6, No.7 - The Devil In Her
Was huge first up after having a year off. She draws well and will find this easier than last run, just hope she doesn’t race flat second up as she can go close here.
Cam Luke
CANTERBURY
Race 3, No.1 - Hello Captain
Finally he is back and again in a very winnable race albeit with weight increase. Drawn better today so might not go back and give a start like last start. Up in trip is good as is the soft track. He has panels on these and won 2nd up in first prep. Progressive horse who I think is too classy here even with the wight. Roma Green was good 1st prep, this is harder but has trialled well. Don't want it getting away with racing murder in front so NR will be close enough.
Race 4, No.1 - Deepwater Artist
Speed map bet as I think like last start he can control the race. He is having a really consistent prep, 1550 is perfect as is the soft track! CK takes 3kg off which I like when a jock sticks with a horse in form. There are simply 2 many Q's over the others. HW got beat in a C1, Wounder keeps getting backed but goes in the EQ due to blinkers, back in trip and class but no major confidence. DA gets the favours today and will be hard to catch.
Race 7, No.11 - Memoria
Back off a break but should still have some residual fitness from the Autumn so I'm not worried about the only 1 trial. Flies fresh and loves the soft! Drawn nicely to go and say, 'catch me'. Canterbury is a big tick as well. World Alliance is the danger and goes in the quad, was great 1st up and great 2nd up from but I can’t warm to him from that gate.
MORNINGTON
Race 2, No.2 - Blue Shield
Back in trip is a huge win here today. He just ran out of puff and I think the 1200 works! From that gate he can go fast and they will need to run him down. The form out of his races has stood up and if he handles the HT he will hold them off!
Race 3, No.8 - Hustle In Heels
Has jumped out well and flies fresh! Drawn a little wide but has the speed to get across early and sit at minimum OSL. Mott is in wonderful form. Hasn't been on HT but the trials on wet have been good. 1000 works and he will be very hard to beat!
Race 8, No.8 - Stay Humble
Claim and young jockey in form will have this horse ready to fly fresh as always. Comes out of better races last prep and I assume from that gate will be able to control it easy enough. Handles the heavy and even after a long break (Early Spring) his jumpouts in the rain makes me think he has come back in decent form.
