The 2026 AFL off-season is underway, with a number of list changes set to commence over the coming months.

The AFL Trade Period opens on Monday, October 5th, running until Wednesday, October 14th.

Free Agency period runs from Friday, October 2nd to Friday, October 9th, with delisted free agents open from October to November.

The National Draft runs from November 19th to 20th, with the Pre-season and Rookie Drafts set for November 23rd.

The Pre-season supplemental selection period runs from December, 2026 to March, 2027.

Geelong has cut three players - Jed Bews, George Stevens and Keighton Matofai-Forbes.

Bews played 175 games for the Cats and was a key member of the 2022 premiership team.

2023 draftee Stevens has been delisted after playing just four games while Matofai-Forbes failed to play a senior game after being drafted in 2024.

“Jed has had a huge impact both on and off the field at Geelong. As a Geelong person, his influence on our football club and the wider Geelong community has been significant,” said Executive General Manager - Football Andrew Mackie.

“He has been a great teammate who has played countless selfless roles across his career. We thank Jed for everything he has given to the Club and wish him the best for his next chapter.”
