Superstar trainer Chris Waller has provided an update on some of the star horses from his stable.

Speaking on three guns - Autumn Glow, Aeliana & Lady Shenandoah - Waller provided some key information into the future of their spring and their chances on Saturday.

Autumn Glow

Waller started with discussing how many more seasons the champion mare will run before becoming a broodmare.

“It's hard to tell,” Waller told SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.

“She's owned by breeders (Arrowfield) and they're always a little more conscious than just the genuine racegoers.

“They'll be thinking of her breeding career as well. So, a little bit of respect will be given towards that, I'm sure.

“Her form will ultimately tell, but gee, the prize money in Australia is so good, it's hard to stop a good horse from racing if they're in their peak.”

The star trainer also confirmed that we will likely get to see the five-year-old at Flemington after the Group 1 King Charles on October 17.

“I would say so after the King Charles,” Waller said of her Melbourne presence.

“One race at a time, it's a long sprint, but that's the plan. The owners are keen to get her down there.”

Aeliana

Aeliana has been able to muster a huge following since her three-year-old season, and now with her targeting a Melbourne Cup, that following has grown even larger.

Waller attributed that following to the weight of the Cups and was hopeful she can return to form on Saturday.

“It just shows you what weight the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups have because I guess that's where a lot of it's coming from,” the trainer said.

“Obviously she's a Derby winner and she's won her last two at Group 1 company, prior to the first-up run, so we've had a lot of requests to see how she's going, and the feedback's been good.

“Hopefully we can see her bounce back on Saturday.”

Waller also reassured that the Cox Plate at 2040m into the Melbourne Cup at 3200m is still the plan with her.

“We sort of always set the Cox Plate and then onto a Melbourne Cup, that's still the plan.”

Lady Shenandoah

Lady Shenandoah is the current favourite for the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke on Saturday, but has raced in Melbourne only once before, where she finished fourth in the Group 1 Manikato (1200m).

Waller explained that was a forgive run and she should be able to perform well this time around on the Melbourne way of going.

“I think you've only seen her once in Melbourne and she was a little bit unlucky in the Manikato - she drew wide and never really got into the race from that point.”

“But she could easily bounce back left-handed if she draws a gate.”

Lady Shenandoah drew barrier 1 for the $1 million Group 1 over 1400m.
