Autumn Glow’s stardom continued to grow after her 13th victory in the Seven Sunrise Stakes (1600m) at Randwick Racecourse.

She jumped as an extremely short favourite, priced at $1.18 with Sportsbet, and proved why the market favoured her so heavily, defeating Aeliana and Ceolwulf, who finished second and third respectively in the Group 2 race.

But it was Aeliana who stole the headlines thanks to her stellar run in second place.

Prior to this race, the daughter of Castelvecchio ran last in the Group 1 Winx Stakes across 1400m, and many pundits started questioning whether she deserved to be one of the leading chances for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups.

Now, expert form analysts Mick Gannon and Miles Pfitzner exclaimed on SENTrack’s Saturday Trackside that the five-year-old bay is right back in contention.

Gannon: “I'll tell you who's run enormous, and I'll tell you who's back and back in a big way.

“You all wanted a pot her, but she is back. Aeliana, ladies and gentlemen, wow.

Pfitzner: “Aeliana, look out.”

Gannon: “She's flying.

Pfitzner: “Aeliana's closed the best horse of any horse in the race.

“Aeliana watch, may be a blackbooker, we've got one for you.”

And when looking at the champion mare Autumn Glow, fellow form analyst Mick Comerford was of the belief that she made the race look like a trial.

Comerford: “It's like a trial for autumn, honestly.”

Pfitzner: “You reckon? I thought she had a bit of pressure put on her.”

Comerford: “I think it looks like that because they've applied the pressure early, but I mean the way she just did it easy in that last bit, like James (McDonald) had sat up almost.”

Pfitzner: “Well maybe she should get out to 2000 again.”

When looking at the Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup markets, Aeliana is now $13 and $21, respectively.
