By SENTrack

David Taggart & Cam Luke have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.

The lads have taken a close look at Geelong & Warwick Farm in a bid to find the family some winners.

See their best bets below:👇

David Taggart

GEELONG

Race 4 | 12. Brass In Pocket
Resumes and she has ability. Bumped into the talented Concord Connie on debut then defeated a metro winner in Gatwick in just her second start. Draws soft has speed and is going to be very hard to beat.

Race 8 | 5. Immortal Star
Resumes and has trialled up well. Ran second to the exciting Oliveanotherday in the Wangoom last prep which is good form for this albeit on a heavy track but 4/5 wins have been on good tracks. Draws pole and hopefully lobs in the box.

WARWICK FARM

Race 4 | 8. Horseshoe Hill
Resumes and she has plenty of ability. This is a far cry to what she was running in last prep and both her wins have come on soft ground. Will be a heap of pace on and she will travel just off them and have last crack.

GEELONG

R2 - 12 Spirit Of Wealth
Away horrible last start and never looked comfortable at Mornington. She comes back a smidge in trip to the 1100 and that works as does the Good track. She'll be prominent from the gate probably 1 out 1 back and be able to stalk the speed. Her efforts last prep in Sydney (as well as 1st up this prep in Town) far outreach this class and she has ran well 3rd up before. After being given the time to get over her last run, she will be very hard to beat.

R3 - 7 Aurora Belle
Too short to back now but will win! Dominant 1st Aussie run and will have the speed to go and control it again today. Wil strip fitter and getting to 1300 is perfect. I'll have her 1 out in the EQ as she will be too good for these.

R5 - 8 Melbourne Boy (each-way)
This big boy just looks like a stayer who will love 2200 but more impotently the dry deck. He just doesn’t go when there is any rain in the track and that has been proven twice this prep. He was really good on debut behind Blind Raise and was pretty good the only time this prep on a dry track when warming up late. Cold Shower and Meness will ensure some speed and that will work for MB as well. He is drawn nicely to be midfield and get out in time and flattne out. This is easier than last start as well as the better track for him and he is way over the odds! He can win but at a minimum he is a great each-way play at $26.

R7 - 2 The Euphrates
This is one of the best Geelong Cup's I've ever seen but I'm with this bloke who pretty good in the Metrop when giving weight and getting beaten late by 2 very nice horses! From that gate he will be able to go and dictate the race and probably go a bit quicker than he did last start which might have helped the other 2. Back to back 2400 works and so does 4th up in a prep that had a long break before it. He will strip fitter and on a Good track take a really good horse to get past him late!

R9 - 12 Sulek
Open race to end the day but I'm leaning to this bloke up in grade but I think that’s offset by him being up in trip! His run last start carrying weight over 1200 he hit the line well considering the leader won (She'll also win R3 today)! Up to the 1500 is a big win and the GT is where he is at his best! His run in the Bendigo Guineas was huge last prep and this is easier than him taking on Sheza Alibi like he did as well. The pace will be enough to allow BE to get a backside as he will drift back. He will enjoy the space of Geelong and be very hard to beat!

WARWICK FARM

R1 - 7 Zahav
Was ok on debut but clearly looking for further and gets to the 1300 today. He will improve off the back of being at the track before and his drawn well for a great speed map which will have him go forward and sit OSL or 1-1. BN takes 1.5 off and that’s a plus. Good track to his liking and will be very hard to beat with race improvement in an open race.

R3 - 8 Bleinhem Girl
First time to this trip which is what she is looking for after her huge run through the line last start over 1800. She did get a long way back on a day that wasn’t easy to do so and win. This race is a little easier in depth albeit same class. I would have liked a little rain for her but she isn’t just a wet tracker by any stretch. She carries no weight with the SG claim. She is fit, deep into her prep and gets the setup today to get it done.

R4 - 8 Horseshoe Hill
Was tipped out after a good prep that ended with him running well in a race out of his class won by Skyhook. He runs well fresh and he has trialled really well without being asked to break any records. 1000m isn’t his pet distance but the speed will be on (Valilee / Bruce / Ex) and that will help him. Again a little rain would help him but he is better on a GT than his record suggests (better races) He is drawn perfectly for a great map and I think he is the classiest horse in the race and wins despite the question over the 1000.

R5-1 Uzziah (each-way)
I thought he was pretty good 1st up and he has great 2nd up form. Getting up to 1400 is a big tick and the drying track is a positive. The claim is a win and there is no doubt there is speed in the race (Elson Boy / Miss Hades) so if MB took a seat , I wouldn’t hate it! Either way he will strip fitter and improve into the prep. Probability Theory deserves to be a fave but she is way too short as is the 1400. Class probably gets her close and she trialled well but her best is closer to 2000 then 1400. Uzziah is over the odds at $13 and where my money will be going on an each-way basis!

R7 - 9 Beneath The Rock
I really like this bloke and he is progressive and we are getting a price because of the bad gate. He won 2nd up before and getting up to the 1300 here is a big win. J-Mac goes on which is a big tick and he will need to find a backside and considering he always does, ill back him in! His debut effort behind Cormier stacks up and even though this is tougher I think he is good enough to handle it!
