Sushi Master-Melvista Stakes (LR)
With back to back stakes wins, Money Maher took his record to five wins (three stakes) in 15 starts. He jumped quickly but with a lap to run jockey Jarrad Noske found the perfect spot, one out and one back, holding that position down the far side and past the 1200m. Noske waited until the 500m to edge another width from the fence, turning in three wide. Into the straight the colt balanced, co led at the 200m, took over narrowly soon after and was able to hang on for the win. Sentimental Friend began his run from the 500m, rounded into the straight four wide and ran on persistently, almost catching the winner to lose narrowly. The Big Show took over into the straight, was headed at the 200m and held on for third from Media Baron who emerged from the pack late for fourth.
