Sugar Rush has returned in good form winning both starts this preparation. The Gai Waterhouse-trained filly settled in a good spot, sixth between runners. Blake Shinn rode patiently, following a good tempo, before moving up at the 200m. She then proved too strong, and then drew clear to score by three quarters of a length. The favourite Third Degree ran her fourth second placing in succession. She raced outside the leader (Crying Hughes), forged to the front at the home turn and looked the winner when clear at the 200m. But she could not hold off the late closing winning to take another second placing. It was a sound effort, nevertheless. *ANZ
