Speedy three-year-old Redzel resumed and scored a smart all-the-way win. He was quickly away from his wide barrier (10) went straight to the front and then ran along at a solid pace. He held a clear break at the home turn and although tiring in the closing stages, he had enough in hand to win well. Wouldnt It Be Nice raced back in eighth place in the ten-horse field, got between runners rounding the home turn. He put in a good run, going to second at the 100m and briefly looked a threat before fighting on to hold that position to the post. Forget was back in fourth place on the rails and kept battling on to hold the minor placing. Gold Symphony, a three-year-old stablemate of the winner who was having his first run for his new stable, raced well back in sixth place and was under riding at the home turn before battling on soundly for a first-up (5.3 lengths) fourth.
