Toowoomba-trained colt Mishani Hustler is now the winner of four of five starts, his last three in succession after advancing to score at stakes level here. He was smartly away and worked a bit in the early stages before crossing to the front. He then travelled well, fought off challengers on turning for home and went on to score quite impressively. The favourite, the Tony Gollan-trained filly Shamurt was third early on, moved up outside the leader (Mishani Hustler) at the 600m, challenged that horse on turning for home and kept fighting well for second, beaten just under a length, her first defeat in three starts to date. Clockwise settled in fifth place on the rails, got along the inner on turning for home, went through to be in a challenging position at the 100m and then fought on well for a good third.
