A classy performance by Better Than Ready who was having his first start since running in the Newmarket Handicap. Better Than Ready was beaten for early speed settling down sixth between runners. He took inside runs and picked up the long time leader Rocky King inside the final furlong to draw away to a cosy victory. Rocky King showed good speed to lead, he battled on strongly in the straight and only found the winner slightly better. *ANZ
