The Sofitel (LR)
Late Charge was eased across from his wide draw (10) to settle down in seventh three wide without cover, about six lengths from the leader Lord Wimble who set a good pace in front. He came very wide on the home turn and was nursed into the race. He picked up solidly at the 300m and sustained his run the whole way to the line to grab Under The Louvre right on the line. A very good effort considering the extra ground without cover that he covered in the run. The runner up Under The Louvre showed good early pace to settled second one off the fence about two lengths from the leader Lord Wimble. He was shuffled back to third approaching the home turn before switching out into the clear three wide on cornering. He closed solidly taking the lead at the 200m drawing away looking the certain winner until Late Charge grabbed him wide out on the track. A good effort in defeat. Extra Zero was away well from the gates. He settled down in sixth position one off the fence. He made his move three and four wide approaching the home turn before being taken to the centre of the track. He came with his run with the winner but could not match the winner’s turn of foot. He stayed on gamely to grab third late on, a sound effort. The eye catching run came from Escado who came from fourth last three wide with cover. He was taken to the outside in the straight and made good late ground for fourth.
