Two-year-old filly Fontiton made a highly impressive debut. She showed exceptional pace in the early stages, going through quickly from her good barrier (1) to lead. She then travelled strongly in front, dashed clear on turning for home and then went on to win effortlessly by six lengths, with Mark Zahra easing her down over the latter stages. She looks outstanding. Hot Snippety, an easy winner on debut at Doomben on 11 October, raced outside the winner to the turn and battled on quite well to take second being outclassed by the winner. The Peter Moody-trained Braccenby settled well back in tenth place, was under riding to improve on passing the 600m and kept responding, getting to a distant sixth at the turn. He then made very good late ground to take third, only a half neck behind the Hot Snippety. He should appreciate further and is a colt to watch.
