Adapt Aust. Torney Night Cup (LR)
Taiyoo continues to race in top form, now taking his record to six wins from his last seven starts. He was quickly away and then eased to get a good trip in fourth place, one out and one back. He put in a good run approaching the home turn, took the lead at the 100m and went on to win very well by almost a length, carrying his 60kg top weight. Crime Fighter was sixth, following the eventual winner. He tracked him from the 600m but was under riding. He then kept battling on well in the straight for second, beaten three quarter lengths. Tuscan Fire was third on the rails and was handy on turning for home. He then kept fighting on for third after appearing to have every chance. Lucks A Fortune ran on quite well from the tail of the field for (1.2 lengths) for a close-up fourth but the favourite Averau, raced well below her good form suggesting something was amiss. She raced outside the leader (Tanby) and dropped out nearing the home turn to finish a distant last. A post race veterinary examination revealed that Averau was lame in the near foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance by racing again.
