Dx Sol. Southern Cross Stakes (G3)
Big Money, having his third run this preparation, settled nicely back in fifth place, following a solid pace (first 600m34.85). He improved rounding the home turn, moved up well from the 300m, got to third at the 100m and finished too well to grab a narrow but smart win. Veteran sprinter Decision Time continues to race well. He travelled well in third place, improved along the rails on turning for home, took a narrow lead at the 200m and battled on very gamely for a really good second. Favourite Rich Enuff was smartly away, raced in second place (behind the leader, Aussies Love Sport). He seemed to be travelling strongly as he moved up at the 200m, looking the winner, but he could not hold off the late closing winner after briefly hitting the front, to finish a close-up third. Generalife was last in the sevenhorse field to the home turn and made ground, without threatening, to finish (1.5 lengths) fourth while Boss Lane was a handy fourth to the home turn and seemed to have every chance before finishing (1.9 lengths) fifth.
