Godolphin-raced colt Souchez put up a really promising effort winning here on debut. He was smartly away from his good barrier (3) and eased to settle in fifth place, between runners, traveling well. He got a split nearing the 200m, challenged at the 100m and finished too well, appearing to score with something in hand. Mooshakissa went to the front, was pressured bit in the early stages but then managed to steady the tempo. She got a break at the 300m and then fought back well for a sound second, just finding the winner a bit too good. Faraway Town had a nice trip in fourth place on the rails, got an inside run to challenge at the 200m and then battled well to take the minor placing after appearing to have every chance.
