Turquoise king began smartly and went straight to the lead. He was then able to steady the pace, setting a moderate tempo to the home turn. He grabbed a break passing the 300m and was not threatened thereafter to score impressively by three lengths sprinting home his final 600m in a fast 32.57. Excitus travelled outside the leader and eventual winner to the turn and then battled on quite well to hold second. The Yowie had a good trip behind the leader to the turn and kept fighting on in the straight for third. *ANZ
