Three-year-old Bitter Dan fought on well to score his first win in three starts. He was smartly away and settled a handy third, travelling well. He went to the rails nearing the turn, took the lead on straightening and fought off a number of challengers to score narrowly but well. Three-year-old filly Eumeralla Gal was back in fifth place on the rails, stuck to the inside, challenged at the 200m and kept fighting on for second, beaten a head. *ANZ
