This G3 1400m at WFA for fillies and mares drew a reasonable field but the boggy heavy track had a major say on the outcome. Only getting eleven runners was disappointing with three scratchings not helping but this race was supposed to be held eight days prior so that is a partial factor. Let Her Rip was ridden a treat to win after sitting seventh then going through sixth across the top before looming up third turning for home. The 4yo mare led at the 100m and drew away to win by a length and a half to clock 1:29.68, which tellingly was only the second best time today with a Benchmark 65 (three or four grades inferior) winner three races earlier clocking 1:29.62. It was the fifth win in seventeen starts for Let Her Rip and her first blacktype success after five goes prior and not having even placed. She passed the WFA test against her own sex today and that augurs well for next season when sure to be even stronger and able to chase higher honours. New York Minute second up ran a good second after sitting wide third and then leading at the 200m. Underthemoonlight ran a game third and is very honest on wet ground and her record of nineteen starts and sixteen times finishing no worse than fourth shows it. Gypsy Fair was a reasonable fourth beaten three and a half lengths after sitting wide fifth them moving up fourth and deeper across the top. Adriatic Pearl ran on late to get fifth on the line after being tardy at the start and in the rear duo early. Honey Rider set the pace and once headed at the 200m wilted to fourth at the 100m then lost two more spots the final 50m. North And South was tardy and in the rear duo early but her rider cut the corner and saved ground before reaching sixth at the 200m and then the 7yo mare one-batted thereafter. Az Given sat outside the pace and weakened while Miss Dalghar found the WFA against her as did Mystery Show. Hayley Grace was outclassed. The first four home all have more wins in store and wet ground does not seem to bother them one iota.
