The winner of this Listed event for both male and female 3yo's was the first starter Shezzacatch and she was impressive too coming with an irresistible surge once worked out into clear air. The filly was fifth the inner the early rush but lost her place to be ninth the inside across the top and sixth turning for home before coming through to fourth at the 300m. Her burst once angled out was far too strong and she led with 20m to go and ended up winning by almost a length such was the strength of her finish. The winners and where they turned for home in race order were led (three-off the inside and a length clear), fourth (four-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), led (six lengths clear centre track), third (trailed inner and length and a half from the leader), fifth (five wide and three and a half lengths from the leader), sixth (on the inside and four lengths from the leader), third (three-off the inside and half a length from the leader), fourth (four-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), third (one-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), fourth (on the inside and two lengths from the leader) and led (three lengths ahead the fence). Shezzacatch would officially win by threequarters of a length and post 1:11.31 for the 1200m to win her debut and record a Listed victory in doing so. Suffused ran better today and after working the lead this time she fought on well but the Australian bred found the winner too strong the closing stages. Alchemia, which was heavily backed late, ran a game third after sitting in the trail then striding through to second at the 250m. She tried hard to overhaul the leader and got within half a length at the 100m before the winner sailed on by but and she ended up third beaten a length. Kobe Rocks was fourth wide for the first part of the race and second wide across the top to the home turn but she rallied gamely from third at the 250m to be fourth at the 100m and beaten less than three lengths. Her run was bar the winner the best effort in the race. The Irishman got well back but ran on okay for fifth beaten three lengths and the favourite is still learning the ropes. Screamin Eagle ran on late for fifth beaten four and a half lengths after settling well back and being second last the inside across the top to the home turn, Yourpoint was disappointing in sixth spot beaten just under five lengths after being back and wide early albeit with cover on settling. He reached sixth wide with cover still across the top and strode up fourth turning in but could not kick on thereafter. The rest were beaten five and a half lengths and up to over eighteen lengths and looked outclassed. The winner looks to have upside as she really found the line once into clear air. The first five home in fact all ran well.
