She unleashed hard wide to be fifth at the 200m and then second at the 100m before leading at the 20m and scoring by a long neck in 1:23.01. The winners and where they came from on the home turn were third (three-off the inside and a length from the leader), led (four-off the inside and half a length in front), led (six-off the inside and length and a half in front), fifth (five-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), fifth (three-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), eighth (three-off the inside and six lengths from the leader), seventh (eight-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), ninth (ten-off the inside and six lengths from the leader) and third (five-off the inside and a long neck from the leader). The winning time was the best on the day by only a couple of lengths from a maiden held earlier in the day that was won very easily by Amazon Goddess and she clocked 1:23.35 and paid 49-1. It was the fifth win today by All About Magic from twenty-five starts and today was her thirteenth attempt at Blacktype and resulted in her second Listed win (she won a Listed event as a 2yo). Also she has placed once at G3 (1600m) and three times at Listed level as a 3yo filly. Today was her first Blacktype win in Open Class and all her five wins have come on good or dead footing. Second home was Belle Fascino, a 7yo mare that was in form having won her prior start in Open Class. She set the pace and kicked away but was caught late. Third home was Goodanya at $51, after the two-race winning 5yo gelding settled down ninth surrounded and then unleashed up the middle of the field to be sixth at the 200m before he got third on the line. Fourth home He Kin Fly that was fourth surrounded early then settled seventh the outer before coming three-wide on the home turn. He was fourth at the 200m and reached third with 25m to go only to lose it the last stride but he did carry 60kg (7kg more than the winner). Sixth home was I Am A Rock that settled handy the inner and was second at the 200m and third still at the 100m before being swamped the final 25m. He was only beaten just over a length and a quarter. Sixth home was Killarney that settled last and ran home well to be close up after being still last but wide out at the 200m. He was beaten less than a length and a half. A gap then existed to seventh in Blackbook that was beaten almost four lengths and the last runner home in the field of eleven was Meara Mary (a stablemate of the winner) that was beaten over seven lengths. The winner All About Magic is best when ridden back and was winning her first race since October of last year. The first six home were covered by less than a length and a half. Racemares would form the quinella and the outsider of the field by a long way in Goodanya filled third and was beaten less than a length. This was not an overly strong Listed Handicap and it had six mares and five males that contested the event.
