The winner of this Listed event was El Gladiador, which worked a bit before taking the lead and then never ever looked in any doubt scoring by a length and a half in 1:30.90 for the 1500m. The winners and where they came from in race order were sixth (one-off the inside and six lengths from the leader), second (on the inside and three lengths from the leader), led (one off the inside and a length ahead), led (one-off the inside and two lengths ahead), led (one-off the inside and a neck in front), fourth (five-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), second (three-wide and a neck from the leader), led (on the fence and two lengths ahead) and second (one-off the inside and half a length from the leader). El Gladiador kicked two lengths clear early the run home and held on well to score by a length and a half for his second win from nine outings. Tears Of An Angel trailed the winning leader on the inner and chased in vain the whole run home for a solid second. All About Magic raced three back the inner and improved fourth turning for home before reaching third at the 300m and he fought on well thereafter. There was an almost seven length gap back to Charlie Awesome and Hot Gap followed by a running on well Bronte Beach. Sanctify fought on fairly for seventh after being sixth at the 200m and the next trio were all together followed by the rest coming home at intervals. The margins were almost up to twenty lengths back to the last finisher and nearly all day you had to be thereabouts turning for home to be any realistic chance. This result was more to do with the prevailing track conditions on the day but still the top three were superior though not by as clear cut a margin as the final result showed. Bronte Beach ran home very well for sixth after a succession of bad barriers.
