This Listed event over 2400m was an Open Handicap that saw Sitarist surge from a three back the inner on settling position to get up on the line by a nostril flare. The winners and where they came from in race order were sixth (one-off the inside and six lengths from the leader), second (on the inside and three lengths from the leader), led (one off the inside and a length ahead), led (one-off the inside and two lengths ahead), led (one-off the inside and a neck in front), fourth (five-off the inside and two lengths from the leader), second (three-wide and a neck from the leader), led (on the fence and two lengths ahead) and second (one-off the inside and half a length from the leader). Sitarist once angled out five-off the inside and fourth turning for home always looked a danger and he strode up third at the 200m then set out after the leading duo. He reached second at the 50m and kept up his gallop to get his nose ahead right on the line. It was his sixth win from thirty-five starts and was his first Blacktype gained. Mr Intelligence trailed the leaders and drove through a clear second turning in before hitting the lead with 50m to go only to be run down on the line. Riviera Rock that had worked to the lead a mile from home kicked hard and was only headed the final 50m. Diorissimo ran on well from well back for fourth, after settling down eleventh and then moving into seventh turning for home. Zentessa raced eighth then moved up wide across the top and battled okay for fifth. Zedaam ran on okay for sixth while King Of The Dance found the line late for eighth. The rest were scattered over nine lengths and as far as over thirty-six lengths in arrears at the line. Once again the track raced almost exclusively on pace all day and you had to be there or thereabouts turning for home or else you were not going to get much in return.
