Mitch Ebeyer's Thursday Focus and best bets at Albion Park (03/09)

And we’re back for another week of top quality greyhound racing in the sunshine state. 11 races from Albion Park with some big names and up and comers doing their thing.

The first race is scheduled for 6:49pm and the last, race 11 set to step at 10:32pm. Plenty of good plays on the old Rex hunt and I’ve got some best and values to have a dip at. Let’s go!

BEST BETS

R1 N4 DUSTY MCGRAW

Looks a deadset class above these and maps really well to lead and not be for catching.

Has moderate beginners Inside and out and on recent for he’s hard to beat. Yes he’s $1.40 or thereabouts but he should be winning after his 30.15 second behind Villain of Magic. Take in SRM (same race multi) with the 6 to add value.

R5 N1 ORSON APPETITE

Crying out for 600m and has drawn ideal as well in the step up. Huge runs the past couple and expect a forward position over 600m. Strikes at 50% win rate off box 1 (4 from 8) and the same over the distance (2 from 4). Owns a solid 35.01 PB and a repeat in this race sees him awfully hard to beat. Main danger the 2 who was big last start and feel quinellas the race with us. Expect to lead, get cover from the 3 early and boot away. Keen!

R10 N3 BOOTIN BOODIE

Winner of 5 of her past 10 starts with three seconds amongst that. Blistering early where she sets up all her races and expect tonight to be no different. Looks the leader, was beaten by a classy type in DUFFMAN two back in 30.03 off the same draw. Main danger the red who is in career best form but don’t feel it can match us early. Well supported but expect to drift.

VALUE BETS

R6 N1 MUSTANG HAYZE

Fast dog who is down on form of late. Has been stepping well but has found one or two quicker to the post the first time. Last 5 starts has only placed once but has 1 win and 5 minor placings from 7 attempts off box one. Expect to lead here and if untouched can peel off a sub 30 second run. Moderate beginners in 2 and 3 so expect every chance! Each way!

R8 N4 WHICH TRAP

A dog who is in form and over the price. Yes, he’s only had one start at Albion Park after a run of races at Capalaba BUT last week was a big big run and with minimal speed in this field he may well settle a lot closer to the speed and be hard to stop if he does. Placed in 13 from 22 at the track so knows the joint well enough! Each way all day!!

QUADDIE

1,2 / 1,4,6,8 / Field / 4,6,7
