Race 1 | 2. Artie's Storm

Was pretty green on debut at Mornington but could find a million excuses for it when it needed a run and once it got it actually hit the line OK. From the good gate and with Stackhouse on I kind of expect this horse to go forward and try and take luck out of it. Natural improvement and a smidge of luck today whilst staying at the 1000m all adds up to a really good performance for this girl to break her maiden.

Race 6 | 4. Tookay Pete

I love this bloke back to 1000m after he just ran out of puff last start when gobbled up late. EP is riding really well and again the claim is a big win here as the danger Just Remember It is carrying 4.5 extra. Good track is key and he has the fitness on his side with the other horse resuming and that will be the difference for Pete to get home first.

MUSWELLBROOK

Race 3 | 8. La Potenza

I really liked her first prep where in two nice races she wasn't far off them. We haven't seen her leading into this which is a slight query so watch market support in particular late. Drawn a little awkwardly but can follow the Waterhouse Bott runner over who's drawn just inside her. Track conditions and distance won't stop her, this is simply about her fitness but from an astute stable I'm going to back them in.

Race 4 | 10. Josephine

She won really well on debut and it was pretty good 2nd up before in a good race before being tipped out. Wasn't asked to do a huge amount in a trial but did enough to suggest to me that she's come back better. She's drawn perfectly to stalk the speed which will be set by a couple of horses in the market.(Zouking/Der) 900m is the perfect kick off on her home track and she will be very hard to be.

Race 5 | 10. Boss (each-way)

This is a really good open race but this bloke will be hard to beat even though the third up doesn't read well, he gets a nice setup today. Soft track no concern at all, drawn perfectly to stalk which will be a hot speed and is really well weighted.

Campbell Brown

YARRA VALLEY

Race 3 | 12. Towntotown

This horse has been very good both runs this prep. Getting back and really hitting the line hard into third both occasions. Up from 1600m to 1950m is a huge plus and with luck will be running over the top of them today and winning well. $2.60.

Race 5 | 5. Honey Maker

Won two in row before pattern against last start. Drawn perfectly sit in first four today. $3.30.

MUSWELLBROOK

Race 2 | 6. Stuck In The Gorge

Very good on NYD in Strong maiden at inverell. Slowly away and had to muster to front and run down late. This is easier, drawn perfectly and if jumps well and leads. Its over. Best in the country $2.10.
