“Ready to peak”: Mick Gannon's Saturday best at Randwick (18/04)

Leading form analyst Mick Gannon from TheGreatTipOff and SENTrack & RSN has provided his best bets for Saturday's racing.

Gannon has taken a close look at Day 3 of The Championships at Randwick.

Race 5, No.4 - OLYMPIAN

Olympian looks well suited stepping to 2000m.

He was strong through the line last start over a mile where he was held up at a key stage, and that run had more merit than the finishing position suggests.

Drawn to find cover in the first half of the field, Craig Williams sticks and that’s a positive. In a race where a few are still queries at the trip, he’s one that looks set to peak at the right time.

With even luck in running, he gets every chance to win.

Race 9, No.14 - BEIWACHT

Beiwacht is ready to peak and looks set up to run near his best.

His recent runs have been solid without being his at his peak, but he now lands in a race where the map and pattern play directly into his hands. From barrier 2 he should hold a forward position on a day where on-speed runners are expected to be advantaged.

The booking of Nash Rawiller is key, and he’s a rider who can take full advantage of that map. With conditions to suit and the right run in transit, he looks set to produce a big run.
