The Brisbane Broncos has confirmed that Corey Jensen is currently in hospital with a blood clot within his lungs.

Following Brisbane's 21-20 win against the Wests Tigers on Saturday, the prop was taken to hospital with scans revealing that he had a pulmonary embolism.

The club is yet to confirm a return date but expect that he'll miss several weeks.

The reigning premiers have also revealed that Payne Haas will miss the next six to eight weeks after confirming he suffered a Grade 3 MCL injury.

This will see him likely miss Game I for NSW.

Meanwhile, Kotoni Staggs and Jesse Arthars have both pulled with a plantar fascia strain and interosseous membrane tear.

"The Brisbane Broncos can confirm Payne Haas suffered a Grade 3 MCL injury in Saturday night’s game against the Wests Tigers.

"Based on early medical assessments, Haas is expected to be sidelined for approximately 6-8 weeks.

"Meanwhile, Kotoni Staggs has a plantar fascia strain and Jesse Arthars has sustained a tear to his interosseous membrane.

"Both Staggs and Arthars are working with the Club’s medical staff to determine their return to play timelines.

"Following Saturday night’s game, Corey Jensen was also sent for scans which has revealed a pulmonary embolism.

"Jensen remains in hospital and the recovery time is unclear, but he is expected to miss several weeks."
