Brayden Maynard won’t undergo surgery on his shoulder – for now.

The Collingwood defender suffered two shoulder dislocations in the King’s Birthday loss to Melbourne and was unable to run out the game.

While specific details are still being formulated, a small lay off to exercise and strengthen the joint is likely.

Maynard would then look to roll the dice once more, with a mind to nurse the shoulder through the rest of the season.

Clearly, if the shoulder continues to pop out, an operation would be needed. But for now, Maynard’s season remains alive.
