Ruakaka

Race 1 Maiden 1200m

13 – 11 – 1 – 2

Russian Prime made an impression on debut at Ellerslie back on the 20th of June, finishing a close second. The winner, Back Of The Bus, has subsequently gone on and had success at stakes level. No public trial between runs but has travelled to Ruakaka and spent time working on the beach in the lead up to Saturday’s race, a 3YO filly taking on the older horses but will carry the minimum. __Fraudster __will have the advantage of being a local runner and has produced two nice performances this preparation, placed behind Latoya (full to Legarto) two back and 4th last start behind She’s No Saint who will be one of favourites in the feature 3YO race at Group 3 level on the day.

New Plymouth

Race 1 Maiden 1800m

8 – 1 – 5 – 9

Winter Rose has improved with every run as she has stepped out in trip. She was runner-up last start over 1600m producing the quickest closing sections despite being forced wide by the winner in the concluding stages. She relaxes well in running and the 1800m trip looks ideal. Our Darcy deserves to pick up a maiden after finishing runner-up in his last two outings, held up last start at a critical stage, and was only beaten a short margin.

Race 4 Rating 65 2000m

5 – 6 – 11 – 7

Hi You Fox Rox picked up his maiden win over 1600m at only his second race day start and followed that up with an eye-catching run, up in class, last start. He closed smartly to finish 5th beaten less than a length with the slickest last 200m. The step up to 2000m looks ideal, the wide draw shouldn’t be an issue as he will likely be back in running. Kyanite Man finished 3rd last start in a strong 3YO race and this looks easier.
