The Group 1 season is set to be launched with a blockbuster, with Sheza Alibi accepting in Saturday’s Winx Stakes at Royal Randwick against Chris Waller’s star mare Autumn Glow.

Peter Moody has indicated to Gareth Hall that they will kick off her campaign in the Winx Stakes this Saturday.

"Peter Moody has just confirmed that Sheza Alibi will accept for the Winx Stakes this Saturday at Royal Randwick," he said.

"That is something else to kick off the Group 1 Spring Carnival season," Gareth said.

Speaking on “Giddy Up” this morning, Gareth was keen to get involved at the current price, declaring: “I’d be taking the $4 with bet365 now, I think she’ll start much shorter than that.”

Sheza Alibi has already established herself as one of the stars of Australian racing, winning the Doncaster Mile during a remarkable autumn campaign.

Autumn Glow, meanwhile, returns as one of the country's most exciting mares after winning her first 11 starts before finishing third in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes over 2000 metres.

The clash is set for this Saturday, August 22, with the Group 1 Winx Stakes headlining a bumper card at Royal Randwick.
