Derby winner, reigning champ among Caulfield Cup noms

24 Group 1 winners feature in the first nominations for the historic 150th edition of the Sportsbet Caulfield Cup.
Across the 124 nominations there are a few truly special horses that have the potential to line-up in the Melbourne Racing Club feature on Saturday, October 17.
The 2026 running is unprecedented with the richest prize money in the race's history at $6 million.
Last year’s winner Half Yours sits at the head of the category after the 2025 momentous Caulfield and Melbourne Cups double.
The Tony and Calvin McEvoy-trained superstar could be the first to win back-to-back Caulfield Cups since Rising Fast (1954, 1955).
Australian Derby winner Green Spaces leads Bjorn Baker’s charge to the Caulfield Cup as one of the fancied chances.
Chris Waller trained mare Aeliana is nominated and shapes to be one of the horses to beat as well, boasting incredible form and record around the country’s best horses including Autumn Glow.
Treasurethe Moment, trained by Matt Laurie, is in the mix of nominees, unbeaten over 2400m in two starts winning both the VRC Oaks and the Australian Oaks.
The 150th edition is shaping up to be one of the biggest of its illustrious history.
