The Robert Smerdon-trained filly Anatina handled the Heavy 8 conditions very well and ran out a decisive winner. She drove through from her inside barrier (1) to hold a narrow lead, travelling comfortably. She moved clear on straightening and then went to the post well to score by almost two lengths. Kraftwerk raced outside the leader and subsequent winner Anatina most of the way to the turn. He was out-sprinted on turning for home then continued to battle on quite well for a sound second. Fiftyshadesofgrey was about seventh, between runners, to the turn. She got a nice split at the turn, went to third at the 200m marker and held on well to take the minor placing. *ANZ
