Text’n Hurley was eased from her outside barrier (10) and went back to last on settling. She remained there until passing the 600m where Craig Williams then took her wide-out to make her run. She moved up widest of all rounding the bend, took the lead at the 100m and then drew right away to win most impressively by two and a half lengths in a strong staying effort. She should appreciate longer and is a classy mare. WA-trained mare Bippo No Bungus was midfield and trapped three wide. She fanned deep nearing the home turn, challenged on straightening and fought on well a wide trip for a sound second. You’re So Good was fourth in the early stages, moved up (three wide) from the 600m and battled on for third, beaten three and a quarter lengths. The favourite Floria ($4) settled in sixth place on the rails from her inside barrier (1). She was asked to improve from the 600m, was then checked by the tiring leader (Sinhala) nearing the turn and was then hindered in getting fully clear in the straight before finishing eighth, beaten five and a half lengths. *ANZ
