Segenhoe Stud Woodlands Stakes (LR)
John O'Shea-trained filly Pretty In Pink is now unbeaten in two starts after following her smart debut win in a Gosford 2YO maiden (1000m) on 25 April with an impressive victory, stepping up in class here. She was ridden quietly from her wide barrier (9) and remained at the tail of the field before commencing a wide move at the home turn. She then finished strongly, hit the front at the 100m and then drew away to win by two lengths. She looks a progressive filly with a bright future. Mark Newnham-trained filly Invictus Salute raced back in seventh place, put in a good run on turning for home, took the lead at the 200m and then fought well for a very good second. Lady Of Shalott settled in second last place in the ten-horse field, got a split on straightening, went to fifth at the 200m and kept running on well for a good third.
