Catkins was in another class to her rivals scoring untouched by two lengths. Hugh Bowman settled the favourite on the back of the speed in third position. She cornered closer to the centre of the track, raced up to the leaders at the 250m and drew right away to score with plenty in reserve, a really taking performance by a top class mare. Sharnee Rose was good in defeat. She came from second last in the run. She was on the move wide out on the course working into the race four and five wide. Brenton Avdulla then switched back between runners at the top of the straight and she worked home steadily for a good second. Dear Demi ran well first up from a spell and well short of her optimum distance. A little worse than mid-field in the run before commencing a forward wide move at the 500m. She cornered wide out on the track and put in a good run in the straight before her condition gave out under her top weight of 59kg and she was allowed to coast to the line. She will improve for the run and has returned in good order. *ANZ
