“Will not be beat”: The Racing Blogger declares Joliestar at Ascot
By Connor Scanlon
Joliestar will be flying the flag for Australia at Royal Ascot on Sunday morning (AEST) in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (1207m).
It will be the Chris Waller-trained mare’s first European start, and she is currently the $2.90 favourite with Sportsbet to win the million-pound sprint.
While some pundits are worried that the flight may negatively impact the five-year-old’s winning chances, Stephen Power, better known as “The Racing Blogger”, is adamant that the daughter of Zoustar will wallop the English natives.
“Listen, she is going to absolutely destroy these Pommy sprinters who are useless,” Power exclaimed on SENTrack & RSN’s Giddy Up.
“She's going to rip their hearts out and win by three or four lengths. She's different gravy, she's different gear.
“James McDonald's going to do the cheeky look around and just wave his whip and laugh at them.”
Power continued by explaining that he has been closely following Waller’s social media updates on Joliestar and admitted that he believes the bay looks an absolute treat heading into her Ascot appearance.
“I’ve been watching all the Chris Waller updates, she looks like she's thriving, mate,” Power emphasised.
“Chris said she’s only lost a little bit of weight from the journey, so she's going to take all the beating.
“Mate, she's a rocket, and I'll tell you what, she will not be beat, I've got so much faith in her.”
Joliestar races at 2:56am on Sunday morning AEST.
