Excellent EW play: Mick Gannon's Saturday best at Rosehill (18/07)
By Mick Gannon
Leading form analyst Mick Gannon from TheGreatTipOff and SENTrack & RSN has provided his best bets for Saturday's racing.
Gannon has taken a close look at Rosehill.
Race 4, No.6 - Namaste
Returned in excellent order first-up, producing a clear new career peak despite very little going his way. He was hampered out of the gates, settled back along the rails and was forced to race on the inferior ground before striking traffic approaching the 400m. Once clear, he finished off strongly through the slower section of the track, suggesting there was even more merit to the run than the result indicates.
With the pattern and race shape working against him first-up, there's every reason to expect improvement second-up. From the draw, Rachel King should be able to settle midfield with cover behind what looks a genuine tempo. If he gets clear air at the right time, he'll be charging late.
At around the $9 mark, he looks well over the odds and appeals as an excellent each-way play.
Race 6, No.3 - Sword Of Legacy
Progressive filly who took another step forward with a career-best performance at Eagle Farm last start. She gets Nash Rawiller again and maps to receive a very similar run in transit.
The inside draw over 1200m at Rosehill is a significant advantage and should allow her to settle midfield without doing any extra work.
With natural improvement still to come, she looks to have the class edge and can prove too strong in the closing stages.
