Carlton’s shift to uncontested dominance has benefitted the entire 23, but none more than small forward Francis Evans.

Rounding off a career-year in style, the second-year Blue averaged just under 14 disposals and a goal per game, finding his groove at AFL level with a career-high 21 games.

But the numbers only tell half of the story. Over the last 10 games of the home and away season, Evans was one of the Blues’ standouts, lifting his averages to 15 and two goals whilst possessing one of the game’s most dangerous kicks inside 50.

Champion Data’s statistics paint a clearer picture, outlining the clear dominance Evans has displayed under Josh Fraser.

“Since Round 15, he is the number three rated small forward in the competition,” Champion Data's Corey Mobilio told SEN Breakfast.

“He has had the highest rated 10 game stretch by a Carlton small forward in over 10 years, Frankie Evans.

“You look at him since Round 15, he has kicked 17 goals, he has recorded 16 score assists, he is top six in the competition in assists in that period of time.

“His delivery inside 50 is magnificent. He hit this time of form at the end of last year as well, and he has done it again.

“He is in really good form.”

Evans and the Blues take on Melbourne in a Wildcard final this Saturday night.
