GEELONG

Race 3 | 4. Icelady

First up today after a really good place in a Group race in Adelaide to end last prep although the strength of the race is debatable, it's better than this and she probably should have won. Draw nicely to go forward and be on speed and they kick off distance is perfect for her. Soft track is in her wheelhouse and even though I've got a couple in the early quaddie I expect this girl to go very close.

Race 6 | 4. Nordic Strike

Was entitled to weaken last start in a tougher race in town when caught three wide with only a small distance of cover. Drops back a lot in class here today and from that gate will be able to go forward and hopefully have a lot more luck and an easier run in transit. There is a little bit of speed drawn inside so I'd like to see JJ take the sit but with a little luck she is the class horse of the race.

Race 7 | 2. Prevailed (each-way)

This bloke just seems way over the odds to be in a race like this. Been running in much better races and been a smidge out of his depth but today from that nice gate and that early speed he'll be in front and making his own luck. Conditions suit, loves the track and distance and a gun jockey in the saddle this bloke is way over the odds and a great each way play.

Race 8 | 1. Stay Humble

This bloke ended last prep chasing Al Duca at his only run at this trip. This prep he has chased home horses way better than the ones he will see today. I like the claim and the fact that he can slide forward from that gate and put himself into the race. Enjoyed his only trip to Geelong previously and as I said I expect the rise in distance to suit him and be very hard to beat.

GOSFORD

Race 2 | 9. Peyton

Chased home The Next Episode on debut and St Gotthard before being tipped out and that’s enough for this. Has trialled well and looks to have come on. Barrier one will allow Zac Lloyd (rode in trials) to box seat and camp right behind Eviction Notice. Soft track not a worry and he is just better than these, will need a smidge of luck so it you don't want any shorter than $2.50 but he has much bigger fish to fry and will break the maiden here.

Race 5 | 6. Smart Cry

Nicely weighted here back a fair bit in class and deeper into the prep she looks like she has been looking for the mile. There's a bit of speed engaged so TS will be able to cruise on the back of it and get a backside. Toe into the ground no dramas at all and even though she doesn't have a great record 4th up they have been in tougher races. I expect her to be in the finish enjoying the easier competition.

Race 7 | 6. Regal Problem

First start for the Pride stable and trialled well in readiness. She rarely runs a bad race and that third in a highway last prep most certainly is good enough for this. She can squeeze forward from that gate and be camped right behind the leaders. Always runs well first up and in the new stable on a soft track I expect exactly the same to day.

MORUYA

Race 2 | 3. Fill Up (each-way)

Don't go silly here but have a little each way play on this bloke. I think he'll appreciate the drier track than what he debuted on and he most certainly will love getting up in distance to the 1600 metres. Trialled up well without being asked to do too much and I just think he is way over the odds here.

Race 7 | 7. Mighty Myrtle

Wasn't too bad resuming albeit in a small field but tougher than this. Will slide back from that gate but there will be enough speed on for it to find its groove and run on. Soft track is perfect, distance likewise and is pretty well weighted. Open race but I expect this horse who runs well second up to be in the finish again.
