By SENTrack

David Taggart & Cam Luke have your Wednesday sorted on Trackside.

The lads have taken a close look at Caulfield Heath, Canterbury & Balaklava in a bid to find the family some winners.

See their best bets below:👇

Cam Luke

CAULFIELD HEATH

R1-5 Melbourne Boy
Was really good on debut behind Blind Raise and then resuming just felt like he spun his wheel a little bit getting his toe into the ground at Geelong, this won't be the case today. That race was also leader dominated so he will need to be closer today but staying at the 1500 allows that to be the case. That would have brought him on nicely and he's a horse I expect a fair bit of improvement from, the good track is key and I think you'll be very hard to beat.

R2-1 Naina
Finally gets back to the mile 3rd (or 4th) up and probably more importantly gets back on a firmer deck. There isn't a huge amount of speed in this race so the gun apprentice should use that gate (and claim) to box seat at worse. The run last start in a better race than this was huge as placegetters all settled 1,2,3. With a smidge of luck the setup is perfect and will be very hard to beat down in class!

R3-9 Valaroso
Debuted in a really good race that has held up and was actually OK considering the winner belted them. Has been gelded in his break and has trialled up really impressively. I like the 1100 kick off for him rather than 1200 and from that gate he will be close enough to the leader. That horse will be Inner Gold who comes out of some nice races and has race fitness on it's side. Have the exacta for it to run 2nd to Valaroso who I think is very classy.

R4-15 Zoo Dazzler
Was so so on debut but that was a tougher race and clearly the break has done her the world of good! She has jumped out really well here and clear she has improved. Think she might be a Melb way of going horse and gets her chance here from a nice gate. I have got a few in the EQ but expect this girl to look much different than her first run and be very hard to beat!

R8-13 National Code (each way)
Can make a case she nearly should have won last start. Took a while to get clear and was really good late. This is easier for her and she never runs a bad race. Drawn really nicely to be close enough today to find her own luck. Another crack at the 1200 being rock hard fit is a bonus and even though I have a couple in the quaddie , I expect this girl to run well and is a great each way play!

CANTERBURY

R3-3 Standard Deviation
This bloke is ready to peak 3rd up, and having another crack at the 1900 he from a perfect gate can stalk the speed. He got worn down late by a fit horse (Fioprospero) after making a bold run and he will improve greatly off the back of it. The fave (and leader) Doradus is the concerning horse if he gets away with racing murder but he will have to work a little to get across from that gate top control. I think this former import is the progressive horse and 3rd up should be too good late.

R6-9 Bltizgal (each way)
Resumes today after a couple of nice jump outs and there is no doubt she has a little bit of talent. This distance is probably short of when she will be at her best but she's drawn perfectly and there is a bunch of speed in the race to allow her to run on. Her first prep was really good in particular that maiden win where she belted them and forget her run before being tipped out she was stuck three wide and eased out she needed the break. Taxation will be really hard to beat but this girl with the SG claim of 2 is a real chance and over the odds.

R7-5 Cobra Club
Finally gets back on top of the ground which is the big plus as is the nice gate where again he'll go control the race. That was his first crack at the trip and a few things went wrong (including a vet check behind the gates) Will be better for another crack at it as well as more suitable conditions. Expect this bloke to go very close in a deep race.

BALAKLAVA

R7-3 Suit Of Wands
Wasn't too bad last start in town in a tougher race than this and today from that gate can stalk what I think will be a little speedier then that last start. He got a little keen from wide gate that day so hoping he can settle but he was strong though the line. The GT form doesn’t jump off the page but they have been in shorter better races than this. He is a big boy so no worries handling the weight and with luck and some settling, he will be very hard to beat.

R9-11 Cicala
Has to turn it around today first time to the 1600 on a couple of those key rivals from last start but there are a few factors why I do think it will happen. Jamie Mleham goes on perfectly drawn unlike last start to do zero work and gets a key weight swing on the horses that beat it home last start. Bootlegger the obvious danger but drew on Carlisle Street and makes it too tough even though it will go forward. JM can stalk the speed and Cicala seems to be set for this perfectly and expect a huge run and a Cup win.

R10-10 Limbering
Start 92 for the old girl but today they are going to need to catch her. She was a tad flat last start but today with no speed and no weight (3kg claim works) she will be in total control from that gate. Open race but no major depth to it and sometimes later in the day the right setup and run gets you home and I can see that happening here.

David Taggart

CAULFIELD HEATH

Race 3 | 9. Valaroso
Is all the rage resuming off the back of two very nice trials winning them both. Draws to get the perfect run and he clearly has ability as he was thrown in the deep end without disgracing himself running fifth in the million dollar Showdown early this year.

Race 6 | 5. Esmahli (value)
Resumes and he showed plenty of ability in his only prep winning three races. Has trialled up enormous for his return and with the speed on he should get the drop on the fav and have last crack.

CANTERBURY

Race 4 | 3. Unstopabull
Unstopabull has been knocking on the door and he will get the perfect run for Nash throughout from pole unlike the fav who will get back. Backs up from last week but he does find his race here.
