The Victorian club where Fagan might end up

Chris Fagan’s future in footy has been a talking point since he called time on his coaching career.

After winning a third straight premiership with the Brisbane Lions, Fagan decided to bow out of the coaching game on a high.

Plenty of chatter has surrounded a possible move to Carlton in a non-coaching role, but that is not necessarily set in stone.

SEN’s Sam Edmund is hearing that there is a chance that Fagan could be headed to the Blues’ arch rivals Collingwood.

SEN Breakfast co-host Kane Cornes asked: “I feel like you have some intel into where Chris Fagan's next landing spot will be.”

Edmund said: “I’m hearing something. So I'm not reporting this, I'm just hearing this. Can I state that?

“And this is going to come as a shock to a lot of people. But I'm hearing Chris Fagan might end up at Collingwood.

“Which you would have thought might be the last place he ends up. But that's what I'm hearing, I’m hearing Chris Fagan ends up at Collingwood.

“I did think in fact when he departed Brisbane after three consecutive premierships and and a fourth Grand Final in a row that if he was going to end up anywhere It would be at his beloved Tassie Devils.

“But the issue for the Devils, as much as I think the Devils would love to have him, is that his lovely wife Ursula, and Chris himself as my understanding, they want to be based in Melbourne for family reasons, grandkids. He's on the record with that.

“And they absolutely want to spend the time with the family. The other part of it is, I'm told he wants to jump straight back into it. He's not interested in a part-time arrangement or a few days a week here and there and helping out and consulting. He wants to jump straight back in the pit.

“So he can't do Tassie from Melbourne full-time. I thought there might have been a way where he might have been able to do half here, half there, particularly next year when Tassie are still back of mind, but that's not going to happen.

“It's not going to be Carlton, I don't think. It’s not going to be Melbourne. I'm actually hearing it's going to be Collingwood.”
