The Sofitel (LR)
Despite drawing the outside barrier (14), honest and consistent Theanswermyfriend put up an excellent front-running display for win four (first stakes) from 13 starts. Jockey Craig Williams sent him forward to co-lead three out early, then pushed on to take a clear two length lead at the 1000m. Into the straight, they increased the pressure, kicked at the 300m, and full of running had them well covered to the line, a length and three quarters clear. Mr Sneaky was midfield and wide before the straight, and kept up a strong run in the centre of the track without looking like overhauling the leader, while Count Da Vinci, who was second turning for home, looked beaten at the 200m but fought back hard to run a tough third.
