Haptic was fast away from his good barrier (2) and quickly took the led. He travelled well in front and cornered four and five horses away from the fence. Nursed in front before sprinting well again at the 300m, he had enough in hand to score a strong win. Furnaces settled down in third position on the fence. He travelled fairly well in the run but did not quite pick up as expected in the straight battling on gamely for second in a bunched finish for the minor placings. Wolf Cry raced in sixth position three wide without cover. He finished on well on the outside of the field to grab third right on the post. Giulietta showed good pace to cross and race on the outside of the leader. She battled on gamely in the straight after working hard to just miss the minor placings right on the line. Sebring Sun was the eye-catcher. He was restrained from his wide barrier (8) and settled down in second last position a long way out of his ground. He travelled well into the race three wide on the back of Wolf Cry but disappointed for a run at the top of the straight, forcing him to switch back to the centre looking for runs. He was once again checked at the 200m when looking for runs between horses and then went to the line racing tight without fully being extended. He should have finished much closer.
