Chris Waller-trained three-year-old Hogmanay won very well here, his first win in six starts and at his third run this preparation. He settled back in centre field before fanning deep rounding the home turn. He then put in a good run to hit the front on passing the 100m and he then drew clear to win easily. It was a smart effort and he looks set to progress to better things.
