After placings in three of his first four starts, two-yearold gelding Barbass broke through from his first win in promising fashion. He began well from barrier seven but was caught three deep, without cover, outside the leading duo before moving up well on straightening. He hit the front at the 200m and he then drew clear to score quite impressively.
