This Listed Open Handicap over 1100m saw a 6yo mare in Its Destinys Child score at her first Blacktype attempt. The winners and where they turned for home in race order were led (two-off the inside and half a length in front), fifth (four-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), second (two-off the inside and a neck from the leader), third (two-off the inside and a length and a half from the leader), fifth (six-off the inside and two and a half lengths from the leader), third (three-off the inside and a length and a half from the leader), led (on the fence and a neck in front), third (four-off the inside and a length from the leader) and tenth (five-off the inside and four lengths from the leader). The track presented was greatly biased towards on pacers as just one runner all day came from off the pace and that was in the last race as the winner came from tenth turning for home and four lengths from the leader. The other eight races saw six of them come from first, second or third turning for home and two came from fifth but no worse than two and a half lengths from the leader. The times all day were okay but nothing exceptional on a supposed Good3, which just adds to the bane of betting that is manmade track bias. Its Destiny Child raced fourth then third the outer and moved up to take the lead with 300m to go then held on grimly by a short neck in 1:02.94, which was nine lengths superior to the Listed juvenile event earlier in the card. It was her sixth win in fifteen starts and all her successes have come clockwise plus she is now three-from-three here at Pukekohe Park. Speedy Meady set the pace as usual and once headed at the 300m never gave it away and in fact fought back hard and just missed. Campari ran on well from sixth the inner to get third inside the final 100m in what was her only show of form this season. She now has two Listed placings on her resume. Julius under the topweight of 60kg raced second or third and finished fourth to for the first time in his career so far miss the top three. He would go on to win at G1 on New Years Day carrying 56kg. Santa Monica fought on from fifth between runners and was beaten just over two lengths. Pop Star Princess sped up wide from the back early and challenged at the 800m before settling second the outer and fought on okay the long run home. Short Fuse was back and wide but seen to be running on from ninth still at the 150m. Marzemino was odds on and began tardily to settle down seventh the inner then worked off to be eighth surrounded across the top. She battled on the run home and lost a near front plate but overall disappointed. The rest just battled but were only just over three lengths to be just under five lengths from the winner at the line so were not beaten too far. This was a decent enough Listed event overall and the form should stack up.
