The winner of this Listed juvenile event was Avonalla, the second favourite, that sat outsider the leader and took command at the 300m then drew away to win by two lengths in 57.97. The first two home were steered well away from the inside turning for home. The winners and where they came from on the home turn were twelfth (six-off the inside and four lengths from the leader), tenth (twelve-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), eleventh (eleven-off the inside and four lengths from the leader), tenth (six-off the inside and three and a half lengths from the leader), fourth (six-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), second (seven-off the inside and a head from the leader), tenth (five-off the inside and five lengths from the leader), eighth (six-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), fifth (seven-off the inside and length and a half from the leader), tenth (nine-off the inside and three lengths from the leader), sixth (six-off the inside and eight and a half lengths from the leader) and fourth (six-off the inside and two lengths from the leader). It was a majority run on day and no leader won all day and the winner here was in fact the only runner turning for home in the top three today to prevail. Avonalla had run second to Follow Your Dreams in his first two starts over 800m but now at 1000m the colt showed his dominance and picked up a Stakes event in the process too, Follow Your Dreams ran a sound second after leading up and suffered his first defeat on raceday or at the trials. Global Beauty ran on well for third albeit over four lengths from the winner after racing fifth and being angled the widest turning for home. This filly has upside and will enjoy once out to 1200m or further. Mozzarella ran on well from last and wide early after an awkward start and she got fourth on the post. Roussanne from fourth on settling was actually third at the 200m before being third in a gap at the 100m then wilted and got run over late. Bodyguard was interfered with early but ran on and finished sixth beaten almost five and a half lengths. The rest got beaten almost nine lengths and as much as thirteen lengths and some of them got hampered early. This was not a strong field as the most professional runners dominated and so many of these are well behind the eight ball at the moment in terms of strength and ringcraft.
